If the dog is distressed at the beginning of the assignment, this is normal and to be expected as it is a new environment with a new person.
If, however, the situation doesn't improve or the dog seems visibly upset, we advise you to contact the client to discuss if this has happened before and if they have any advice for the situation. This can usually be minimised by meeting the pets first and spending time with them to build a relationship. This way they will ultimately be more relaxed.
